double pecsim::ne_inner_ps(double al, double amlt, const std::array<int, 2> &itime, double &am1, double &b1, double &x234)

This program calcuates the density profile for the interior plasmasphere and for the emipirical modeling project. The Carpenter and Anderson, 1992 plasmasphere is used only for a saturated plasmasphere. For a more typical plasmaspheric density profile, we will use a profile obtained from Gallagher et al. 1988.

Parameters:

  • al – (L-shell)

  • amlt – (solar magnetic local time)

  • itime – (time array)

  • am1 – (output parameter)

  • b1 – (output parameter)

  • x234 – (output parameter)

Returns:

double (inner plasmasphere density in cm^-3)
