double pecsim::refractive_index(double t, const Vec3d &x, const Vec3d &shat, RayTraceConfig config, bool debug = false)

Compute the refractive index of the ionosphere at a given time and position.

Parameters:

• t – Time in seconds since J2000 epoch

• x – Position in Cartesian coordinates (ECEF)

• shat – Direction vector of the ray (normalized)

• config – Ray trace configuration

• debug – Debug flag to print additional information

Returns:

Refractive index at the given time and position
